About our beliefs

At The Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., we believe the Bible is the Word of God and the foundation of our faith. We believe in one God, repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. We believe God has called us to live holy lives and follow His Word in all that we do. Our motto, “One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism” (Ephesians 4:5), reflects our commitment to the Apostolic faith and the truth taught by the apostles. Our desire is to hold fast to the teachings of Scripture and share the saving message of Jesus Christ with others.

Common questions about apostolic doctrine

We understand that studying Scripture and learning about Apostolic teachings can bring forward questions. Here are clear, Bible-centered answers to help you understand what we believe, why we practice it, and how the Gospel transforms lives without judgment or pressure.

What does the Oneness of God mean?

We believe in the absolute Oneness of God. There is one true, eternal God who revealed Himself in the Old Testament as Creator, manifested Himself in the flesh through Jesus Christ, and dwells within believers today as the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16, Colossians 2:9).

What is the biblical plan of salvation in Acts 2:38?

On the Day of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter declared: "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38). We believe this plan of repentance, water baptism, and receiving the Holy Spirit remains the foundation of New Testament salvation.

Why do you baptize in the name of Jesus Christ?

Every baptism recorded in the New Testament church was administered specifically in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5). Jesus commanded to baptize in the "name" (singular) of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19), and that supreme saving name is Jesus.

What is the evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost?

When believers receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, it is accompanied by the initial biblical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, as shown throughout Scripture (Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:6).

What does holiness and godly living mean?

Holiness is not about legalistic human traditions, but about dedicating our lives completely unto God. Scripture calls believers to walk in separation from sin, modesty, and purity both internally in heart and externally in conduct, reflecting the character of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:15-16).

What is the role of Scripture in our teachings?

The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. We look to Scripture alone to establish our doctrine, govern our daily lives, and guide our church worship, standing firm against human opinions or evolving cultural trends.

Do you believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ?

Yes. We hold firmly to the blessed hope of the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ for His church. This expectation inspires us to live holy lives, evangelize our community, and urgently share the Gospel with every soul.

Can I request a personal Bible study?

Absolutely. We love exploring the Scriptures together. Whether you are searching for answers, desire to learn more about the Apostolic faith, or want one-on-one spiritual guidance, our church family is honored to study God's Word with you.
